VAS. ARCHONTAKIS INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL S.A. GENDER EQUALITY POLICY

The guarantee of gender equality, the fight against discrimination and the improper treatment of persons on the basis of gender bias or prejudice is a fundamental concern of the company, which respects the principles set out in the Constitution on equal rights, namely:

  • Article 4(2) on equal rights and obligations between Greek men and women
  • Article 116(2), which establishes the elimination of discrimination on grounds of sex and the undertaking of positive actions to promote equality between men and women.

The phenomenon of sexual harassment is considered unacceptable as a form of sexist behaviour that harms human dignity and is dealt with severely by the company’s management.

For this reason, ARCHODAKIS company is based on 4 main pillars regarding racial equality:

1. COMMITMENT TO TRANSPARENCY AND OBJECTIVITY IN COMPENSATION/SALARY

The company is committed to fostering a culture of equality where part of it is the application of representative and decent salary and remuneration packages to employees regardless of gender. These packages will be communicated to employees as part of transparency. And objective criteria for pay increases will be applied to help reduce indirect discrimination.

2. PREVENTION OF SEXUAL FAVOURS OTHER THAN THOSE REQUIRED BY LAW

The company is strictly committed to the absence of any occurrence of sexual harassment. The company will provide regularly scheduled and updated sexual harassment training for all employees. In a special area in the women’s and men’s locker rooms there is a special box where each employee can record his/her complaint or any incident that has happened to him/her. 3. RECORDING COMMENTS AND ENCOURAGING EMPLOYEES TO IMPROVE

The best way to improve the company and the work environment is to create a workplace that is safe for employees and where the company can hear from them and be open to feedback. This is achieved at ARCHODAKIS S.A., with:

regularly scheduled meetings where employees can talk directly with supervisors about what is and is not working for them in the workplace.

anonymous complaints and suggestions for improvement mechanism that is done using a special box for anonymous complaints located in the men’s and women’s locker rooms.

External audits by consultants and a safety technician.

The company is committed to the anonymity of complaints and their correct and objective settlement.

4. SUPPORT FOR FAVORABLE EMPLOYMENT POLICIES

At ARCHODAKIS S.A., a key to creating an equal workplace is to give employees the opportunity to take care of themselves and their families. For this reason we are committed to:

The above policy has been communicated to staff and is signed by management.

For the above purpose, the company has established the Gender Equality Committee with the following members:

1. Dorothea Archontaki – Chief Supply Manager and Head of the committee

2. Manthos Archontakis – Director and member of the committee

3. Patapios Ninolakis – Production Manager and staff representative
